Bonnie has now retired and lives with us as a loving (but still a little mischievous) pet.
Bonnie – Total Eclipse of Haughley at Smacom – was born in 2011. We bought her in 2014 and had the health tests listed below carried out. She is a very loving girl with an athletic build. Like Roxy she is a very affectionate girl ! Her first litter with us was born in 2014. She was an excellent Mum, and helps out with other litters
Colourwise, Bonnie has a yellow(e) gene and can therefore have yellow and black pups, according to the sire’s genetic makeup. We mated her with a yellow dog – fox red colour – and she has had some wonderful black and yellow pups. She has fox red in her line and in her first litter with us had some beautiful fox red pups.
She has the following health results:
- Hip Score : 4/5 = 9 – 4th March 2014
- Elbow Score : 0 – 4th March 2014
- Eye Examination : Unaffected – 30th September 2014
- prcd-PRA (DNA) : Carrier – 11th April 2014
- CNM : Clear – 12th June 2014
- EIC : Clear – 12th June 2014
- SD2 (dwarfism) : Clear – 12th January 2015
Her clear statuses means her offspring cannot be affected with these genetic disorders. However as a prcd-PRA carrier we must ensure any stud dog we mate Faye with in the future is CLEAR. By doing this we can ensure any future offspring are not affected with EIC. This demonstrates why testing is important.
